Welcome to "Marine Planarians of the World"

This program comprises an identification system and multimedia database of the marine triclads, one of the three major groups of planarian flatworms. Marine planarians, or Maricola, have a world-wide distribution.

Marine Planarians of the World™ presents a comprehensive account of the anatomy, ecology, and distribution of all known species of marine planarians, including text descriptions, line drawings and micrographs.

Maricolans are benthic, marine animals and therefore the program is useful for marine biologists and benthic ecologists who wish to learn more about this group of organisms.
